What to do with monthly baby pictures

what to do with all those monthly baby photos you've been taking: make a photo banner for your baby's first birthday party
Nowadays, it seems like everyone is taking monthly baby pictures. Not wanting to miss out, I also took pictures of Emma every month. One of my friends gave me onesies at my baby shower with numbers painted on them, and I had so much fun taking pictures of Emma in her special onesies every month. monthly baby photosBut what to do with all those adorable photos? Why, display them at her first birthday party, of course! I decided to make a banner using all of her monthly baby pictures and hang them up in front of our dining room window for the party.

All I did was print out one photo for each month, glue each one to some purple scrapbook paper, and string them on a purple ribbon. Since Emma was wearing a white flowered headband in many of the photos, I also added little fabric flowers between each photo.

Emma has always loved teddy bears, and in most of her monthly photos she is with one of her three favorite bears. So for the birthday party, I tied purple ribbons around those bears and propped them up under the banner. It was fun for people to see the actual bears and look at the photos to see just how tiny Emma used to be!

I also printed out some teddy bears onto brown paper and included them on the banner in order to keep with the bear theme. I added a flower behind each teddy bear's head because it was just so cute.

The rest of my decorations for the party included a teddy bear birthday cake and a bunch of teddy bear books that I checked out from the local library. I also tied purple ribbons around all of Emma's stuffed animals and set them up around the house. It was really easy, and turned out so cute.

This banner is still hanging up a month later, but I love the way it turned out, and when I take it down I think it'll be pretty easy to transfer it to a scrapbook. I'm already excited to start taking monthly photos for my next baby!
